Making Sense of Coffee’s Value: Sector Perspectives on How Coffee’s Value is Created and Distributed

Lecture Description

How is value created and shared across the coffee value chain? Where do different actors agree, where do they disagree, and what does this tell us about the future of specialty coffee?

Drawing on findings from the SCA's 2025 Equitable Value Distribution (EVD) survey, this session explores how stakeholders across the coffee sector perceive value, equity, and progress. The SCA will share key insights, emerging trends since 2023, and what they reveal about opportunities and challenges for the industry.

The conversation will then shift from insight to action, highlighting practical approaches from the SCA How-To Guide. To conclude, Siruma's CEO will share early lessons from one of the first pilots applying the Guide in practice, offering a glimpse into how equitable value distribution can move from aspiration to implementation.
